Dr. Carroll is the Clinic's Medical Director. He serves on various hospital committees, is active in water quality protection in our Toe River watershed, and is a cyclist and kayaker. He is a member of the Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department. Dr. Carroll is married to Beverly and has three 4-legged "children." |
Dorothy De Guzman, MD

Dr. North’s interests include adolescent medicine (for which he received a fellowship from the Universtity of Rochester), telemedicine, preventive care, and mental health. Dr. North is the president and founder of the Center for Rural Health Innovation.
Dr. North has strong ties to Mitchell County. He is married to Jennifer Larson, MD, daughter of Dr. David Larson and Susan Larson. Dr. North and Dr. Larson are the parents of two children, Eli & Oscar. |
Barbara Stagg, MD

Dr. Stagg has three children Tadayoshi, Sejiro, and Keikichi Littleton and four stepchildren Vanessa, Dylan, Myrthin, and Tristan Stagg. Dr. Stagg and her children are avid dancers and participate in the annual Nutcracker. Her husband, Barry Stagg, is a well-known American/Canadian recording artist for cash box. Dr. Stagg can often be seen singing on stage with her husband. |

Pat was initially employed at BCMC in 1988, for sixteen years. She then spent seven years as a Nationally Certified School Nurse in the Mitchell County School system. In January 2012 Pat returned to the clinic to provide acute care services to established clinic patients and school-age children in the community. As a native of Mitchell County she feels very close to the people and enjoys providing needed health care services to this area. |
